Coach Mike Reyes

Hi,

My name is Michael Reyes I have been training martial arts consistently for the last 16yrs. I started training with an MMA club in Southern California focused on wrestling and striking. Eventually I joined Kings MMA in Huntington Beach, CA. I spent 6 years under Coach Rafael Cordeiro from Brazil and a chute box lineage. In that time, I trained heavily in striking specifically for MMA. I was offered a hand full of fights by Rafael Cordeiro himself, I trained alongside and was a regular fight camp training partner for multiple professional & amateur fighters including Beneil Dariush, Nolin Ticman & Jessica Penne to list a few. At the time I lacked a submission game so besides a canceled amateur fight, I made the choice to decline the fights I was offered and took a coaching & sparring partner approach. During that period I also spent 2 years working with many fighters out of my garage gym while running a striking cardio class a few days a week. Since I moved to Arizona in 2016 I started focusing mostly on No-Gi Jiu Jitsu and I currently train at 10th Planet Jiu jitsu Phoenix under John Botello for the last 8 years as a purple belt. I have a deep passion for teaching and invest my self in to every one of my students. I’ve been with my amazing wife for over 24yrs and we have a beautiful 11yr old daughter. Coach Jordan Johnson

Jordan Johnson is a former NCAA Division 1 wrestler and two-time University All-American in freestyle wrestling. He attended the University of Iowa and earned his bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management from Grand Canyon University.

Throughout his professional mixed martial arts career, Johnson captured the RFA World Championship, went undefeated in the UFC, and competed for the PFL World Championship. He also earned an IBJJF No-Gi World Championship title. 

Beyond competition, Johnson coached a fighter from amateur beginnings to top-ten Bellator rankings and cornered a Bellator World Championship bout. His experience includes combining athletic development with business leadership.

Johnson later earned a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling and became a licensed counselor. His diverse background in elite athletics, coaching, business management, and mental health provides a unique perspective on leadership, human performance, and personal development.
